Located at Palm Island Resort

Park your car in the Leverock’s parking lot and catch the water taxi over to our Island restaurant! This 20 minute, $6 ride through the inter-coastal, to the Island will bring you right to the Rum Bay docks and it’s just a short walk on the boardwalk through the mangroves to our front door.

Centrally located between and within 5 miles of both Placida/Boca Grande and Englewood Florida on Placida Road is our sister restaurant, Leverocks. Leverocks Restaurant is located at 7092 Placida Road in Cape Haze. Naturally, we prefer if you allow Leverocks patrons to use the parking spaces closest to the restaurant, but plenty of space is available for you to park your car at the restaurant, walk down adjacent to the boat basin, past the swimming pool and towards the Harbor Master’s office. At the end of the walkway, the fueling dock is shared with the water taxi. Space is limited to 15 people every hour on the half hour starting at 11am, weather permitting. Reservations are suggested by calling Rum Bay at (941) 697-0566. Taxi fare is $6 round trip. Bring your camera as the dolphins frequently play in the wake.

South of Englewood, Lemon Bay and Stump Pass yet North of the bridge at Gasparilla/Boca Grande, boaters should look for the Intracoastal marker “9A”. Stay inside the markers heading West and follow the channel approximately ½ mile from the intracoastal. Look for the Rum Bay sign on the Port side. The first dock is for the Water Taxi, but the remaining slips are available for guests coming to enjoy the Rum Bay Restaurant.

Rum Bay Restaurant is on a barrier and coastal island accessed only by water. Automobile’s access to the island is provided by a car ferry for a round trip charge of $55. We suggest using the Water Taxi but if the convenience of a car is important to you, please access the Palm Island Transit’s car ferry from Panama Boulevard, 100 yards north of Leverock’s Restaurant.
Panama Boulevard may be accessed from Placida Road. From the corner of Placida and McCall in Englewood, travel south 5.5 miles. From the corner of Hwy 776 Port Charlotte and Hwy 771, follow Gasparilla Road south and around as it becomes Placida Road for 11 miles.

We’d love to hear from you! Whether it’s to share your thoughts about our restaurant, or let us know how much you enjoy our food.
